Post-Apocalyptic and Dystopian

H2Zero: Part One

In the 21st century, the human race is on the brink of extinction. An event known as the Black Incident has reshaped the world as we know it.
Civilisation has fallen into absolute chaos. Food is heavily rationed. Clean water is now more valuable than diamonds.

After the fall of the British government, the military now control what remains of the population in quarantine zones. When orders fail, bullets fly. If you try to leave, you're enslaved.
Outside the quarantine zones you're confronted with bandits, psychotic cults and ... those ... things.
H2Zero is a wake-up call to humanity. We may not yet realise it, but extinction is closer than we think.
Each book in the series is set in a different time to explore the events that have unfolded and each book will follow the footsteps of a different person as they struggle to survive in this new world.

H2Zero: Part One is a prequel which introduces the reader to the unique world through the eyes of the author.

Teen Horror

Click! (Spinetingle Diaries book #1)

Peter Buckley, a fourteen year old student, has a rather ordinary life, if not a boring one. Somewhat a loner, Peter is a regular victim of the school bullies. He is lazy and lacks any form of motivation, his hobby is watching television all day and every day. Having control over the television makes up for Peter's lack of control over his own life and, to him, is the perfect escapism.

At least that USED to be his hobby.

Peter's life changed dramatically overnight when something of great power ended up in his hands. The saying "With great power comes great responsibility" has never been more true for Peter. But does he have the ability to be responsible?
Click! has an unexpected twist and an unexpected ending.

Santa Claws (Spinetingle Diaries book #2)

On one seemingly ordinary Christmas Eve, a young boy, wide awake and unable to sleep, tries his best to stay awake long enough to see Santa drop down the chimney. This young boy has dreamed of the day that he finally catches the glimpse of his hero, Santa Claus Tonight, on this snowy, deceptively normal Christmas Eve, he aims to achieve that dream.
What a mistake that was.

Something very terrible happens on Christmas Eve in this family's typical, cosy house.
You thought Christmas time was all laugher, happiness and cheers, did you? Well, you're wrong.
So, very wrong.
After reading this story, you will probably never, ever sleep on Christmas again.

This is a short story by Scott A. Butler as part of the short "Spinetingle Diaries" series.
